Migori County Secretary Dr. Oscar Olima presided over the Rongo University Cultural Week as Chief Guest, joining students in celebrating cultural diversity through vibrant performances, traditional dances, and a rich display of local cuisines.
The event provided a platform for showcasing the diverse traditions and talents that define communities, while fostering engagement between county leadership and the youth.
Dr. Olima was accompanied by CECM for Finance and Economic Planning Mr. Maurice Otunga and Chief Officer for Gender, Culture, Inclusivity and Social Services Prof. Rose Ogwang Odhiambo, representing H.E. Governor Dr. Ochilo Ayacko.
In his address, Dr. Olima commended Rongo University for its role in preserving cultural heritage and nurturing youth talent. He reaffirmed the County Government of Migori’s commitment to supporting cultural initiatives and promoting inclusive programs that empower young people and strengthen social cohesion.
