An attack on a woman leader is an attack on the entire community

We wish to commend the exemplary leadership and service of , the Chief Officer for Gender, Sports and Culture. Her tenure has been defined by dedication, vision, and a deep commitment to uplifting communities across the county, particularly in Muhuru Bay.

We extend our sincere appreciation to H.E. , the Governor, for his steadfast leadership and for making the strategic and people-centered decision to appoint Professor Odhiambo to this critical role. This appointment continues to bear fruit through transformative initiatives that directly impact lives.

Professor Odhiambo has distinguished herself through impactful programs and advocacy. Notably, her leadership contributed to the remarkable success of the Piny Luo Festival, which celebrated cultural heritage while fostering unity and economic activity. She has also been at the forefront of championing a zero-tolerance stance against harmful practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), reinforcing the county’s commitment to dignity, safety, and equality for all.

Her passion for education and empowerment is evident in her efforts to ensure that girls from her home area of Muhuru Bay access quality education. Through her support in bringing WISER Girls School closer to the community, many young girls now have the opportunity to pursue their dreams and secure a brighter future.

Professor Odhiambo’s extensive academic background and professional experience make her exceptionally well-suited for her office. She embodies competence, integrity, and a deep understanding of community needs.

We also strongly affirm that leadership should be respected and protected from unwarranted attacks. Any attempt to undermine Professor Odhiambo on the basis of her gender is unacceptable. An attack on a woman leader is an attack on the entire community

and the values we stand for.

As we reflect on these achievements, we also recognize the broader leadership of Governor Ochilo Ayacko. His administration continues to demonstrate commitment to inclusive development, cultural preservation, and social progress. It is this kind of leadership that deserves continuity, and we believe that a second term will further consolidate the gains already made and unlock even greater potential for our county.

Together, let us continue to support transformative leadership, uphold unity, and work towards a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
